Sleep Effects on Your Productivity
Did you ever notice not being able to pay attention in class when you went out partying the night before? Do you ever find yourself daydreaming during a staff meeting when you stayed up late the night before? There are just examples of how sleep effects your productivity are seen and a lot of people have, at one time or another, experienced such effects. People who are often short on sleep before they are to do a task often find that they cannot concentrate fully on what needs to be done. Some people even find themselves repeating certain motions and tasks even when they already finished these earlier and all because they lack sleep.
When sleep effects your productivity at work are seen by your superiors, you can be lucky to get a reprimand the first time, but if you continue doing this, you might find yourself out hunting for another job. The tiredness you feel often translates to sluggish movements, lack of quick comprehension skills and may result in what is called ineffectiveness at work. You will also find that you react a lot slower than usual to situations that you are already familiar with and you can’t seem to understand what you are reading even when these are simple enough to grasp.
If your lack of sleep effects on your productivity is seen by others and by those who are signing your checks, you should do something to remedy the situation immediately. You should try to find a cure for this problem if it is caused by chronic insomnia. If it is caused by too much partying, then the only solution to this is discipline.
